It's official ....

.... I got a 4.0 this summer. At least I have something to show for not having a life this summer. Let's just hope my boards have a good result!

Petey made the Chicago Mission AAA Hockey Team for the 4th year in a row, this time as a Bantam Minor. Good luck on a great 2009-2010 season!

Spring Grades

OK, after carrying 24 credit hours last semester my grades were finally posted. I earned 6 A's and 2 B's for a semester GPA of 3.87. Yeah me! That combined with my 3.4 from last semester gives me an overall GPA of 3.65 so far. Not too shabby if I do say so myself.

This summer semester is a light load of only 13 credit hours, but I have to work in study time for the national boards which are August 15th. No letting up yet ....

Valentine's Weekend

I had a great weekend. On Friday Jim picked me up from the train with a dozen long-stem red roses and John handed me a Valentine (hand made by him, of course). Then Jim picked up sushi for dinner. After dinner Petey headed over to a team-mate's house to spend the night and leave for Green Bay Saturday morning. His team won all 3 games this weekend, although he didn't get to play in the 3rd game because he got checked hard into the boards and hurt his shoulder. The coach decided he needed to rest it during Sunday's game because it wasn't even a league game and the state tourney is this weekend. Anyway. I also drilled for the Guard this weekend and had a blast, lots of x-ray reading and mouths to inspect and a lot of studying. Okay, the studying part wasn't fun, but it was productive. Then the Gresla family (Janiene, Tim, Nick & Kristen) came over Saturday evening. It was great to see them and enjoy a few margaritas too!

For those of you not on Facebook, here are the pix of Petey's stitches that he got last night. He was goofing around on his bud's backyard ice rink without a helmet or skates and ended up with 6 stitches. It's turning a lovely shade of purple today.

Bragging rights.

Petey's team, Chicago Mission, played in the Silver Sticks tourney this past weekend. They beat the #1 US team, St. Louis Jr Blues, in the quarter finals (giving them their only loss in 55 games!). Then they beat the #3 team in Ontario, Mississauga Rebels, in the semis. The championship game was against the Toronto Marlboros who are not only ranked #1 in Ontario, but also #1 in North America. Unfortunately they lost 1-3, but they played a solid game, kept Toronto's guard up and kept the score close against the best team in the continent. Of course they brought home runner-up hardware. Official grades .....

.... are in. I ended up with 2 A's and 3 B's for a GPA of 3.4. I was shy of my goal of a 3.5, but my grades were respectable and worth posting.
